In the last years, we have been committed to sensitizing the territory about environmental issues through tangible actions.
The electrical systems, the air-conditioning system, the water recycling system and the solar panels permit to our hotels to limit the wastefulness, respecting the environment surrounding us.
Moreover, we believe the commitment to an eco-friendly approach is made of small attentions with regards to our guests.
No more single use plastic cups and glasses in our hotels’ rooms, but recycled and reusable products, pencils instead of pens, perishable water bottles, no more paper but electronic disposals and digital procedures for all our teammates.

Our air-conditioning systems are set up on the thermal exchange using the water of the lake 50 meter depth at a temperature of 7°C and reinserted at a 15 meters depth at a temperature of 12°C avoiding any danger to the ecosystem. No compressors and consequently no gas are employed.
We are the only one hotel chain employing this kind of system and we are very proud of it.
We buy the electricity from one of our societies, the Idroenergy Srl, that produces hydroelectric energy using the water from creeks of our mountains. One of the energy power stations is situated in Baveno, not far from the Grand Hotel Dino.
Moreover, the 90% of our hotels light bulbs are LED, helping reducing the electrical consumption.
Our swimming pools are heated by innovative solar panels.
All paper lists and documents have been removed from the rooms and replaced with tablets. All domestic procedures have been digitalized and the staff uses electronic disposals to report about its work.
The main laundry, completely automated and managed by the Zacchera group, is provided with a purification system to recycle an average of 80% of the water.
It has been launched as an alternative to the typical water service in the dining hall and conference rooms. Water dispenser have been installed at Grand Hotel Dino – for the moment – and guests who benefit from this service are presented with 0.5 lt water bottles with Zacchera’s logo.
